Working in conjunction with Barkley Integrated Marketing of Kansas City, we took the next, natural step in the evolution of our corporate culture, from member service to member obsession. This forward-thinking service philosophy is founded on the maxim, "Life Beyond the Everyday," which serves as a reminder to think beyond our individual concerns and internal processes, and focus solely on the best interests of our members. Rather than introduce this concept to our more than 500 employees through classroom instruction, we staged an all-employee event, the G2 Summit, scheduled for the morning of the Columbus Day holiday, (October 10, 2016). Our objective here was three-fold: first, encourage as many employees as possible to attend on their day off; second, celebrate what we've accomplished since our founding in 1955 and generate excitement about our future; third, inspire our employees to embrace the concept of "Life Beyond the Everyday" in their work, and come away feeling part of something special, a community of purpose.
