At Credit Union 1, our quarterly newsletter is one of the most valuable ways that we communicate news and events to our membership. As our credit union has grown and changed over the past 65 years, our newsletter has evolved with time as well. However, in 2016 we recognized that the tone and format of our newsletter had grown a bit dusty. We were ready to reimagine its format and reengage our readers!
Through the careful development of a new design and member-focused content, we formulated an objective to turn our traditional newsletter format into a magazine-style showcase of financial tools and community outreach for Alaskans. Our credit union is proud to serve anyone who lives or works in Alaska, and we do not limit our scope of “serving” to a member’s financial needs. As such, we envisioned a newsletter that presented our products, services, rates and more in a way that clearly supplemented each Alaskan’s larger goals of community well-being, financial independence and the personal achievement of unique life milestones.
Credit Union 1’s target audience and membership base is spread throughout the state of Alaska, which means our members are diverse in both lifestyle and location. Anyone who lives or works in our state is eligible to join CU1, and our current membership base is 85,000+ strong. In addition, we’re always eager to use our newsletter as a tool to generate awareness and engagement from potential members and communities in need of a financial or philanthropic helping hand. To ensure that our reinvented newsletter was available to even the most remote residents of our state, we also aimed to publish an accessible e-version of this newsletter via our website at cu1.org.
