TopLine Federal Credit Union
TopLine has a strong commitment to the neighborhoods and communities in which our members live and work. Each year we host a variety of charitable giving drives to support our local communities, like food, personal care, clothing, school supplies and toy drives.
In 2017 we were presented with the opportunity to partner with the Africa Education and Health Initiative (AFEDHI), a local non-profit, with a vision to ensure African students have access to affordable books and other school supplies. We hosted our first-ever book drive. We asked members and employees to donate education books and materials to students in kindergarten through college to support their educational needs and goals. We had aimed to collect a few hundred books – and ended up collecting over 3,000!
Our first drive was such a success that we decided to partner up with the Africa Education and Health Initiative (AFEDHI) for the second time in 2019 to further educational opportunities of Nigerian students. We aimed to increase the amount of donations we received and the amount of students we could help. And to our surprise we collected over 6,000 books and school supplies and were able to donate $1,500 from TopLine Credit Union Foundation to fund college applications and scholarships for several students in Nigeria.
