AmeriCU
We had several objectives in mind when we built our new AmeriCU website that launched in June of 2019. Our old site was quite antiquated. It was very text heavy and had few conveniences which made it a challenging user experience (it didn’t even have a search function!). With the new website, we wanted the desktop and mobile experience to be much easier for the user to get the help they needed. We wanted it to be more attractive and graphical (see ‘Home-page’ image).
Our target audience for the website is quite broad, as we offer many products and services that cater to people in all different life stages. We want to target non-members to encourage them to consider switching to AmeriCU to meet their financial goals. One way we are doing this, is getting out into the community (see ‘News’ image) to talk to people - which we highlight on the community section of our website - and establishing ourselves as financial partners with our members.
Another target is our current members. We want our members to take advantage of as many of our products and services as possible to help them live life, dream big, and achieve financial success. Cross-promotion is an important method of how we’re doing this. One example is that we have promotional boxes on the bottom of many of our web pages, that promote products and services we offer that are relevant to people visiting that web page.
Our Contact Form allows people to ask questions to the specific department that their questions are relative to. We also use google analytics, to help distinguish audience segments and guide them through website that would be most pertinent to them. We’ve also used web personalization (with the help of Marketo), to really hone in on a target market. For example, when we opened a new location in Syracuse, NY, we had pop up banner display to people in the zip codes around that area. And only people in those areas would see that messaging. If someone clicked on that pop-up ad, they would be taken to a webpage with more information about the location.
