Freedom Federal Credit Union
In 2018, Freedom Federal Credit Union first introduced the #SummerofFreedomFCU photo contest. The contest calls for participants to incorporate Freedom-branded sunglasses into their summer adventures and post the pictures on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the publicly searchable hashtag, #SummerofFreedomFCU. Pleased with the 2018 results, which included 283 new followers across our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, our team took the lessons we learned and decided to re-launch the contest in 2019 with a new look, higher prize and a different voting methodology to encourage social engagement and attract conversions (new followers).
Target Audience: Social media users who live, work, worship, volunteer, or attend school in Harford County, Maryland (aligned with our scope of membership).
Goal: The #SummerofFreedomFCU photo contest was launched with the goal to increase name recognition of Freedom Federal Credit Union and to build up a local base of followers on our social media pages, with a focus on Facebook.
Main Objective: Increase Facebook followers by 400 (doubled from the previous year’s goal)
Secondary Objective: Create highly engaging, highly shareable posts, that will reach at least 6,000 unique people weekly (2,000 more than the previous year’s goal)
Secondary Objective: Reach 15,000 unique people during the final week of the contest. (5,000 more than the previous year’s goal)
